Understanding and using Large Language Models during your PhD | ||||
| ||||
|
This 3-hour workshop offers a basic and practical introduction to large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT. We’ll explore how these models are trained and aligned with human values, and explain how they reason and generate responses. Along the way, we’ll look at various use cases to show the range of what LLMs can do at this moment. After this workshop, you’ll understand how most language-based AI tools work (such as Perplexity, ResearchRabbit and Elicit) and can be used to boost your productivity.
Please bring your laptop and make sure you have access to a (free) language model, such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini or CoPilot.
No prior technical knowledge is required - just curiosity and a willingness to explore!
