COURSE: Intuitive statistics | ||||

Many researchers have the basic knowledge of statistical methods: what is the difference between ANOVA and t-test, what defines a parametric statistical test, etc. However, when trying to relate that to their own experimental data, the clarity of which test to use becomes less clear. These two 4-hour lectures are designed to visualize critical aspects of interpreting statistical results, as well as to understand what happens when assumptions are broken while using statistical tests. Certain examples from “Statistical Methods for BME” will be highlighted as examples during the lecture. In the end, students should have a better understanding as to when to use each test, and how to analyze their own research data in the future.
